New beginning

10months RCIA journey passes just like that. Finally I am offically a Catholic. I was baptized on Easter Vigil 2013. The mass began at 10.30pm lasted for 2.5hours. We stayed home whole afternoon to ensure MNJ gets adequate nap for the long night. (I didn’t want any of them missing out the moment). It begins with The Service of Light. Church lights will all be switched off, and a fireplace is prepared to light the Paschal Candle.

2nd part was Liturgy of words which consists of 5 readings from old testament plus Gospel from Luke. That explains partially of why the long service. My poor N was then screaming lung out in car without my knowledge.

3rd part was the Baptism of the catechumens. The moment that all 7 of us been waiting for.

  1. Funny how different churches do different things.. i was told that i dont need a godparent, unless i want to cos im old enough to make decision. Was that your personal decision to have one or it’s mandatory?

    • We have to have one. I was told we will need someone to guide us, as spiritual journey only begins after baptism… God mother will be a good guidance as they usually been living faithfully and prayerfully…. And in a way they serving the church too..

Also my facilitator mention many stop going church after baptism and somehow they lose the faith and forgot how to be a catholic, so in q way the god mother have to ensure her god son or god daughter is on right path. Hahahah

How u feeling after baptism??? What “gift” u received from Holy Spirit when u were baptized?
