During my RCIA journey, we came across the parable of prodigal son many times. It’s a very beautiful parable shared by Jesus. Tells us about how great is God love and his willingness to forgive. Of course there’s more to it. You can read it in Luke 15: 11-31.
Then I came across the parable of the two son while browsing at borders few days back… Hence I went back and study it again. Read Matthew 21:28-32
The Parable of two sons
28“What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He came to the first and said, ‘Son, go out and work in the vineyard today.’
29He said in reply, ‘I will not,’ but afterwards he changed his mind and went.
30The man came to the other son and gave the same order. He said in reply, ‘Yes, sir,’ but did not go.
31* Which of the two did his father’s will?” They answered, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Amen, I say to you, tax collectors and prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God before you.
32* q When John came to you in the way of righteousness, you did not believe him; but tax collectors and prostitutes did. Yet even when you saw that, you did not later change your minds and believe him.
Very important reminder to myself, to be a true catholic. A true committed Catholic. It’s truly a tough journey. I appear to Lord on every mass and feel really unworthy… A lot of time feel incompetent in lots of areas…. I hope god will continue to shower His grace upon me and my family.
