Who is the teacher

Who is the teacher?
💬Does she know A,B,C?

💬Can she count 1,2,3?
She is turning 2 in 2months time. She is the child that I never bothered to teach her anything.
Irresponsible parent you may call me. I do not deny I struggle to do what I did with M when I had only 1 child. He was attending special infant classes, we give him undivided attention etc.
But it is more of I finally realize and accept that children is actually the teacher of our life. We are the students. For one they taught me how to love when I thought I already knew it.
She taught me to identify others love language and speak their language.
This girl, her very dominant love language is definitely “Physical touch”. Notice she want leaning towards me a few times and she was actually giving m lots of kisses and she sure enjoy being hugged, caress and kisses
We were singing to the tune of Elmo and Feist 1,2,3,4 😝yes it is still a hit in our household

My thought

Thou hast made us for thyself, and our heart is restless until it finds its rest in thee.” -St Augustine.

I was once worry pot. Every single thoughts leads to one worry, after another after another….. Yes I was pretty annoying..

I’m learning not to be such worrying pot anymore… I’m not that timid to take a road unknown anymore, or simply always choose an easier route.

I came to understand, realize, and most importantly – ACCEPT, that no matter which road I take, it will definitely leads ME to my destination(where? I don’t need to know anymore) the unknown is the journey…. But I can choose to enjoy the journey… And TRUST that how pleasurable or unpleasant the journey turn out to be, I can always rely on Him. I accept that I’m human, therefore mortal, therefore have limit… So I need to constantly draw strength from Him…

Oh yes, my heart is “less restless” now…

Assumption Day

Do you know today, 15August the Assumption day, is the day of obligation for Catholics?

Manfred asked me:”why we go church today?”

To explain to him in simplest way. I told him every year 15august, we remember about Mother Mary is brought up to heaven.

His eyes wide opened and exclaimed in excitement:” you mean today I can see mother Mary go to heaven?”

Then I explain again, we remember it, just like we remember Xmas, Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Every year we go to mass to remember the things that happens in the past, and what The Lord has done for us for our salvation.

Catholics don’t worship mother Mary. Last time I don’t see why it’s important to get to know the Virgin Mary. Now I do.. Her virtue, her obedience of willing to be handmaid of god, submitting to God’s plan….. It’s something we really should ponder on. Think about how a mother’s heart sinks…. Seeing own child being tortured…… Think about that. I shed my tears everytime I watch passion of Christ, and recently The Bible.

Teach me to be more “Mary”

In the midst of almost going insane, I’m at the same time trying to remain my sanity……

I pick the boys back from school early, and bake to de-stress. M teacher was not please.. Sorry Mrs Ch, M’s mama has some issue and she needed her boys…

I can’t remember when was the last time I truly bake… And bake… And bake and bake….. Nevertheless, the cookies were good…. Yumm

Luke 10:38-42
New International Version (NIV)
At the Home of Martha and Mary

38 As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. 39 She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. 40 But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”

41 “Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed—or indeed only one.[a] Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”

Chitty chatter with J

At church. After the mass was ended, as usual I kneel down and say a brief prayer.

J: mummy, I say a prayer for ah Gong a.

Me: ok sure!( I been telling them to pray for ah gong’s soul so that he and Jesus would meet and Jesus can bring him to heaven)

I’m happy that they know they can
Pray and importance of it. And also a reminder that kids learn through observation more. And self note that to raise a kid that is prayerful and responsible, I must be prayerful and responsible myself.

On the other subject, I brought J to dental, we chat on our way.

J: I love Sunday school.

Me: so do you like going church?

J: yes I like.

Me: why do you like going church?

J:because I like Sunday school

Me: so when no Sunday school do you like to go church?

J: no!

Come with me

“Come with me”
From les miserables.

Come with me
Where chains will never bind you
All your grief
At last, at last behind you
Lord in heaven;
Look down on him in mercy

Forgive me all my trespases and take me to your glory

Take my hand
And lead me to salvation
Take my love
For love is everlasting
And remember
The truth that once was spoken:
To love another person is to see the face of god

While driving, listening to this song,
Recalling the scene of Jean Valjean about to pass on……. The more I listen to, I become more emotional…. And before I knew it, I was sobbing while driving…

If you haven’t watch the movie, try! Good movie. And hopefully one day I get to watch the musical with my spouse.
